Khwaja Ghulam Farid, one of the greatest Saraiki/Punjabi Sufi poets, was born in 1845 and died in 1901 at Chacharan Shrif.
He was buried at Kot Mithan.
His mother died when he was five years old and his father Khwaja Khuda Bakhsh died when he was twelve.
His brother Fakhr Jahan Uhdi educated him.
Khwaja Ghulam Farid was a great scholar of Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sindhi, Braj Bhasha and Punjabi/Saraiki.
He also wrote poems in Urdu, Sindhi, Braj Bhasha and Persian.
He wrote Dewan-e-Farid in Punjabi/Saraiki in 1882.
