Shah Sharaf (1640–1724) or Sheikh Sharaf is one of the many Punjabi Poets who are ignored
by Punjabis. He belonged to Batala District of Gurdaspur. Sheikh Mohammad Fazil of Qadiri Shattari at Lahore brought him towards Sufism. Shah Sharaf wrote Dohras, Kafis and Shuturnama. He believes that one has to merge his identity in Khuda as a seed does to bring forth a plant. We can see his influence on latter poets.
