Guru Amar Das Ji

ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ

Guru Amar Das Ji (5 May1479-1September1574 ) was born at Basarke village in Amritsar district. He was the eldest son of his parents, Bhai Tej Bhan and Mata Sulakhni. He was married to Mansa Devi and had two sons, Mohan and Mohri, and two daughters, Bibi Dani and Bibi Bhani. Guru Angad Dev Ji appointed him as third Guru of the Sikhs in March 1552 at the age of 73. He composed 907 verses including Anand Sahib. Poetry of Guru Amar Das Ji in ਗੁਰਮੁਖੀ, اُردُو/شاہ مکھی and हिन्दी.
ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ (੫ ਮਈ ੧੪੭੯-੧ ਸਿਤੰਬਰ ੧੫੭੪) ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਤੀਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਬਾਸਰਕੇ, ਜਿਲਾ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਹੋਇਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੇਜਭਾਨ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸੁਲੱਖਣੀ ਜੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਮਨਸਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ । ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮੋਹਨ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਰੀ ਜੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਧੀਆਂ ਬੀਬੀ ਦਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੀਬੀ ਭਾਨੀ ਜੀ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ੯੦੭ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 'ਅਨੰਦੁ ਸਾਹਿਬ' ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੈ । ਗੁਰੂ ਅਮਰ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੇ ੧ ਸਤੰਬਰ ੧੫੭੪ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਰਾਮ ਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੱਦੀ ਸੌਂਪੀ ।
