Principal Karamjit Singh Gathwala

Principal Karamjit Singh Gathwala (born 23 March 1951) hails from village Narain Garh, district Sangrur, Punjab. Academically qualified with M.A. degrees in Punjabi, Hindi, and English, he has witnessed life across diverse spectra. His father, Sardar Surjit Singh, was an Amritdhari activist in the Lal Party led by Sardar Teja Singh Sutantar during the historic Muzaara Ghol against Biswedari in Pepsu. Growing up in a household rich with religious and revolutionary literature instilled in him a profound, lifelong love for books.

He served his community as a village Sarpanch for roughly fifteen years and successfully ran an educational institution in Sangrur for twenty-two years.

Since January 2011, he has dedicated himself to serving literature as the editor of punjabi-kavita.com and hindi-kavita.com, collaborating with his son Antarpreet Singh Gathwala (B.Tech, LL.M.).

Honours:
Awarded the 'Punjabi Maa Boli Sewa Samman' on 21 February 2021 by the Punjab Kala Parishad for his stellar contribution to the promotion and dissemination of the Punjabi language.

ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਠਵਾਲਾ (ਜਨਮ 23 ਮਾਰਚ 1951) ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਰਾਇਣ ਗੜ੍ਹ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ (ਪੰਜਾਬ) ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਇਆ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਐਮ.ਏ. ਪੰਜਾਬੀ, ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਹਰ ਖੇਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਨੇੜਿਓਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਪੈਪਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਸਵੇਦਰੀ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਮੁਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਘੋਲ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਤੇਜਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਬਣੀ ਲਾਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਕਾਰਕੁਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਨ। ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਕਲਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚੁਰ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਅਰਪਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਇਹ ਲਗਭਗ ਪੰਦਰਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਸਰਪੰਚ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਈ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੰਗਰੂਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਵੀ ਚਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ।

ਜਨਵਰੀ 2011 ਤੋਂ, ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅੰਤਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਠਵਾਲਾ (ਬੀ.ਟੈਕ. ਐਲ.ਐਲ.ਐਮ.) ਦੀ ਸਹਿਯੋਗਤਾ ਨਾਲ punjabi-kavita.com ਅਤੇ hindi-kavita.com ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਕਾਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
